The other day a colleague of mine, a delightful middle aged woman, was shocked to hear that I didn’t own a living room sofa set, a TV or a guest bed. “Instead of spending all your money traveling to all those places, why don’t you buy the basic necessities for comfortable living.” That was her first comment.
