I blog this from my hostel in Old Jaffa (Arabic: याफा Hebrew: याफो) sipping some Arabic coffee and watching the clouds take over the city. I have 2 more days in Israel and I am more-or-less going to “do nothing” until I fly back.
Seen in the picture is the clock tower of Jaffa, a monument erected in the first decade of 20th century by the Ottoman Turks. By local standards, this is a brand new structure! In the old days, the clock square served as a welcome plaza to people who arrived to the town. There are markets (called shuk/शूक्) and narrow streets all around.
Can’t believe my vacation is ending. I’m loaded with stories and pictures which I will post over the next month.

There is always enough to do, even when free, during travels. Come back safely traveller and confirm that. Can’t wait to hear all your stories. Won’t you share with me some uncensored versions as well? lol
Did you enjoy the strong Qahwa (the Arabic coffee)?
I wonder if Jaffa is another version of Haifa? Is it the ancient port city you are talking about?

Yes, infact I was sipping Gahwa (or Qahwa) while writing this.
Jaffa is the ancient port city just south of Tel Aviv. Haifa is the other one
Loved the picture and would of course wait for more. When are you going to be in India?
