And life goes on… - II
Happy 25th [tag]Birthday[/tag] to me!

25. I don’t like that number. Last year I didn’t like ‘24′ and a year before that I didn’t like ‘23′. Birthdays tell me my age. I dislike birthdays - they measure the time and keep telling me “ok dude, one more year gone“. As written in the previous post, this compels me to sit down and start thinking. I hate thinking - it damages my feeble brain and I feel forced to do certain things only because they are ’supposed to be done’. hmmmphh….
Resolutions? Nah .. Here is the golden rule:
[tag]Priyank[/tag] doesn’t make resolutions. He sets targets.
Targets are more objective oriented, hence are long term and comprehensive, while resolutions are short term can be anything that can be broken (hence the saying).
I don’t understand why people “celebrate” birthdays when clearly it is a day of mourning. Another precious year gone. Morever, 25 is like a new ‘phase’. Imagine this:
“How old are you, Priyank?”
“25″
yuck! that sounds awful, doesn’t it??
BUT, surviving on Earth is a game which every living thing has to play, and every game should be celebrated. Perhaps birthdays are meant precisely for that. Perhaps it is time’s own way to tell us that he doesn’t stop and we have to do the right things at the right time. And best thing of all is, ‘25′ sounds a lot better than ‘26′
cheers!
PS: In case you have missed my previous announcement, here it is again: “If you want to send me birthday gifts, lots of money, sweets or anything nice, please don’t hesitate”. !

DOES A POEM NEED A POEM FOR A WISH?
