Thanks to MSEB (Maharashtra State Electricity Board), which disconnects electricity supply between 5 AM – 7 AM and again from 5 PM – 7 PM (yes, 4 hours a day), I am able to appreciate the beautiful colors of the sky in a much better way. Also, there is a stark difference between the evening sky and the morning sky, something I knew, but never paid much attention to.
At dawn, the city is silently waking up. Roads are empty and the only sounds you hear are those of the chirping birds zapping across the horizon. The dew settles on tender grass and the dark sky is suddenly illuminated by the speedily rising Sun God. The air is crisp and simply looking at the rising sun will fill you with energy. It is very cloudy these days and the other day they formed this brilliant diamond ring !
Evenings are rather dull, but the most favorable time for a splendid display of colors. Is it the air pollution that creates these shades? I have no clue. But the surroundings are definitely glaring with all sorts of noise pollution. As I return from office , I see a flock of seagulls flying in disciplined order over my head and the international flights sparkling at a distance, awiting their turn to land. The adjoining photo was taken 15-20 minutes after sunset, at a higher exposure.
Being in a city, I’m unable to see the sunrise and sunset, or the horizon for that matter. To do that, I need to get out of here. I will add a photo gallery dedicated to the sunrise and sunset skies.
