Toronto skyline
It was blue sky with clouds scattered around, early fall and the weather was perfect. But every time I went to the Toronto Islands on a date, it was disastrous. Toronto\'s skyline looks wonderful from the islands south of the city and if nothing else was, at least the pictures were good... ;-)
Toronto Tuesday: A weekly photo feature
[tag]Sri Harmandir Sahib[/tag] aka [tag]Sri Darbar Sahib[/tag]

The [tag]Golden Temple[/tag], located in [tag]Amritsar[/tag], is the most sacred [tag]shrine [/tag]in [tag]Sikhism [/tag]and was built in 1601 A.D. The temple has entrances from 4 directions and is surrounded by a large pool of holy water. It is a place of both stupendous beauty and sublime peacefulness, especially at night.
The temple complex houses large dharamshalas (hostels) and a langar (Free Kitchens) which serve delicious food. At any time, one can see scores of people praying, meditating or taking a dip into the holy water. The whole place is run by volunteers who assist in making and serving food, water, etc. as well as cleaning and maintaining the place.

From 21-Apr until 08-May I will be on a holiday to [tag]Himalayas[/tag]. Last summer, I went trekking to Har ki Doon in Uttaranchal (Garhwal), and that was the first time I saw snow. Now I’m addicted to the mountains.
This year’s itinerary consists mainly of a himalayan [tag]mountain cycling[/tag] expedition arranged by Youth Hostels Association of India. I will also visit other places in North India: Chandigarh, Kullu-Manali valley, Dharamsala, Amritsar and New Delhi.
