Interesting sights on the streets of Sochi.
It’s great to explore a city on foot, possibly the best way to see little things here n there. The streets near the city center are small and jumbled.
Walkway along the Sochi-Adler road, probably the most important road in the city.
Underground walkway for pedestrians.
While asking for directions, one lady asked me to jump in her car since she was going the same way. Surprise surprise! The vehicle was made for left-hand drive! Apparently, made-in-Japan cars are quite popular, and Japan, just like India, South Africa, UK, Australia, SE Asia, etc. drives on the “correct” side of the road. LOL

In case you get lost…
I also found people quite polite. “Пожалуйста” (something like पाझाल्यस्त) means both ‘please’ and ‘you are welcome’, and everyone dutifully used it.
Напитки (beverages), охлажденное (chilled), минеральная вода (mineral water), cоки (juices), пибо (drinks).

I totally agree that exploring a city on foot is great. I can’t even remember any city I’ve ever visited without walking a lot.

Correct side? What are you talking about? How is driving on the right side of the road the wrong way of driving?
Left side is the right side, period.
It looks like a mix of Europe (the houses) and China (the pedestrian underground, the posters…) to me.
Is that palm trees in the first picture?
Hi Zhu, yep they are palm trees. Sochi is on the Black sea, thats why.
the ‘in case u get lost’ pic and title is hilarious… but it is an interesting experience tying to figure out a new language …

Interestingly only one location (Theater square) is written in English. If you are going to Russia, don’t go without learning Russian!
