Volume 1, Edition 9
‘Toronto Tuesday‘ is a weekly photo feature about random stuff (landmarks, people, culture, seasons, etc.) in the city.
Streetcar siding

Toronto streetcar (tram) system is among the largest systems in North America. This streetcar siding (parking) station is located at north west corner of Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue, few blocks from where I live.

I am getting increasingly attracted towards desaturated images – b&w, sepia, etc. So I’ve posted the same image in a different way.
So, which picture did you like more?

umm..Im prefer black and white pics too..
cool!
I loved the first one, the coloured one.
Welcome to my travel blog Prerna!
Nice picture. I believe that Toronto’s system is one of the largest systems in North America because the other systems were obliterated, unlike in Europe where almost every city has a streetcar system. Ever heard of the Great American streetcar scandal?
And the car companies now beg the government for money. I wish a new movement would start to bring public transport back. Thanks LIW!
The only time I sat in a ‘tram’ is in Amsterdam. There are many Mumbaites of the older generation who wistfully get nostalgic about the trams in Mumbai.
Nice pictures. To me, whether sepia works or not depends on the subject. In this case, bright night city lights must be vibrant, hence I opt for the first!
Mahendra, I prefer the colored one too, it looks more lifelike and real like you said. When I was in Kolkata last year, I did travel on a tram!
I generally like sepia and B&W pictures, but in this case I prefer the first. The bright colors of the night are striking. Well captured!
Priyank, congratulations on being featured on the Best Indian Blogs. Well deserved.:)
Thanks Celine. And the best Indian blogs thing? *giggle giggle* you know!
Interesting how you can make a picture so appealing even if it is of traffic. You are an artist Priyank.
Nita, you are very kind with compliments!
nice pics..reminds me of a metro depot i visited during corse of my professional work in delhi……
Hey Priyank, great pics, I love all types of images, they all have their place.
Thanks Bob, now you are being diplomatic… lol!
Desaturated images look really beautiful at times! Classic!
Thanks Amit!

PS : Coincidently I took my first pic of Tram yest
Oh dude the best blog thing nothing, believe me! If it was, do you think I’d be quiet?
Hey, I’m sure your camera does the job better. I use the manual (M) mode a lot, it will create wonders in your digital SLR baby!
Nice place
Thanks Ajeya!
I like color in night photos but either would make a nice print.
Yeah, now I prefer the colored one too. Thanks Wendy.
Nice article with beautiful pictures
Welcome to my blog and thanks for the comment, Rajesh.
Good to see your website up and running again
I liked colored one over the other one.
Thanks Gauri! I’m relieved too, and yours is the first comment I saw
Like the coloured one better, makes it alive cuz of the red vs the dark blue sky, good one!
Thanks Snow! Nice to see you here, although I am happy to see spring!
I like the first one better.
Ah, yes, as I visit this post after many days, I have started to like the colored one too!
