Jesus was born here ?
Church of Nativity, West Bank, Palestine (Israel). Taking the Arab bus network, I went to Bethlehem which is located in the West Bank. Crushed under a load of curious Christian pilgrims, I made a trip to this church and was overwhelmed with what I saw...

The Golden Temple

[tag]Sri Harmandir Sahib[/tag] aka [tag]Sri Darbar Sahib[/tag]

Golden Temple: Glittering at night

The [tag]Golden Temple[/tag], located in [tag]Amritsar[/tag], is the most sacred [tag]shrine [/tag]in [tag]Sikhism [/tag]and was built in 1601 A.D. The temple has entrances from 4 directions and is surrounded by a large pool of holy water. It is a place of both stupendous beauty and sublime peacefulness, especially at night.

The temple complex houses large dharamshalas (hostels) and a langar (Free Kitchens) which serve delicious food. At any time, one can see scores of people praying, meditating or taking a dip into the holy water. The whole place is run by volunteers who assist in making and serving food, water, etc. as well as cleaning and maintaining the place.

Photo from my Amritsar visit (May 2006).
